East Cork Junior Hurling Championship draws made

The 1st round draws for the East Cork Junior A & B hurling championships were made at last nights board meeting. In the Junior A Championship, Carraig have been drawn against St. Ita’s, the Gortroe club who have been making great strides in recent seasons. This promises to be a tough encounter for Carraig but no doubt the team will be up for the challenge. The Junior B Hurlers will take on Cloyne in their first round tie, a tricky assignment but one the team will work hard to be ready for. Juvenile Club Meeting Tues 27th Jan 8:30pm Venue: Scoil an Athar Tadhg Following on from the decision taken at the recent club AGM, a meeting will be held tomorrow night Tuesday, 27th Jan at 8:30pm in Scoil an Athar Tadhg. All members and parents are welcome to attend. Officers and mentors will be elected on the night and if you would like to get involved with our underage section for the coming year,please come along. There are plenty roles to fill and any help that can be offered is appreciated. Maybe your talent is in gardening or landscaping, in IT or fundraising, in catering, cleaning, flag-making or any other of the many tasks that have to be undertaken in a busy GAA Club. Some people are afraid if they ‘join up’ they will be overburdened but don’t worry on that score. GAA Social Night & Medal Presentation Fri 6th Feb

To honour our victorious Minor and Junior B Hurlers from 2014, Carraig na bhFear GAA club will hold a social night in Carrig House on Friday 6th February at 8:30pm. The centre piece of the night will be the medal presentation to both of these teams to mark their success for 2014. Our Minor hurlers had a fantastic year in 2014, winning the Rebel Og East Minor B Hurling Championship & League double, while they narrowly lost out in the County final to a strong Kilmeen/Kilbree team from West Cork. Our Junior B Hurlers claimed the East Cork Junior Hurling League Div 4 title in great style, winning all their games and defeating Aghada in the final in mid November. All members, families, supporters and friends are invited and encouraged to attend on the 6th Feb, as we look back on 2014 and look forward to 2015 with great optimism.
