Carraig na bhFear GAA Family Fun Day: Sun 11th Sept 2-5pm Venue: Carraig na bhFear GAA Pitch All at Carraig na bhFear Juvenile GAA Club have decided to forget the matches and drop the training, well at least on Sunday September 11th between 2 and 5 anyway! We are hosting a family fun day, with lots of fun events for all ages. You wont require to bring anything but a smile and a change of clothes for those with a sense of fun or young enough not to care. Karens shop is opening a second branch for the day and there will be some hot snacks also. There will be events to test skill, courage, endurance and accuracy and thats only the wellie throwing event! The club is putting a huge effort into ensuring its a fun filled day that will linger in the memory. Mark the date in your diary. We look forward to seeing you all there, young and old, for an enjoyable day...

Defeat for U16 footballers, Minor hurlers in action tonight

Hard luck to our U16 footballers who were defeated by a talented Courcey Rovers outfit tonight in the Rebel Óg East B Football Championship in Carraig on a score of 3-15 to 1-7. The lads gave it their all and this young side can hold their heads high! Keep up the hard work lads! Best of luck to our Minor hurlers who take on Lisgoold in the Rebel Óg East Minor B Championship tonight in Lisgoold at 6:45pm. After a good win over Bishopstown in the quarter final, a much tougher test awaits against a fine Lisgoold side. Carraig have been preparing hard in recent weeks under the watchful eyes of Gavin and Sean, we know they will give it their all to reach a third straight minor final. Best of luck lads! Junior Footballers in Semi Final action

East Cork Junior A Football Championship Semi Final – Fri 26th August 8pm in Castlelyons: Carraig na bhFear v Cloyne All roads lead to Castlelyons this Friday night as we take on Cloyne in the semi final of the East Cork Junior A Football Championship. Having suffered defeat to the same opponents in round 1, we bounced back well to defeat Midleton, reigning champions Fr. O’Neills and Lisgoold to make it to the penultimate hurdle. The team have been working hard in training since their recent exit from the hurling championship in the hope of reaching a first Junior A Football decider since 2008, as we look to end a 41 year wait for the title itself.
