Lotto Jackpot rolls into June with no winner

There was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot of €5400 in The Local on Monday night, 29th May. The numbers drawn were 20, 25 and 34. The €30 prize winners were: Pauline Hegarty, Mick Sherlock, Michael McCarthy, Turlough Duggan. Next weeks jackpot is €5600 and the draw will take place in Carraig House on Tuesday night, 6th June, due to the bank holiday on Monday. Juvenile Club Notes 23rd May

Carraig Proudly Represented Felix Murphy and Billy Connolly Well done to Felix Murphy and Billy Connolly who recently took part in an U14 inter regional/county hurling blitz. This blitz took place in Castlemartyr, and teams from Cork and Waterford participated. It’s great to see Carraig na bhFear proudly represented at this level. Well done to all involved. U6’s The U6s were out Friday night. Even though it started off wet, it didn’t dampen the boys spirits. The boys started with their drills and then finished up with a match ! They are always eager to learn new skills and are constantly improving!  Well done boys U7’s Well done to the U7’s who played some great football and hurling in both matches against neighbours Clyda Rovers, Mourneabbey. Training has really been paying off for this group and a great match was enjoyed by all, with plenty of goals being scored! A big thank you to their coaches. Training continues every Friday in Carraig pitch at 6pm.   U8’s The U8s travelled to Mourneabbey last Saturday morning to play Clyda Rovers in two friendlies – football and hurling. We had a strong panel of 10 and the Carraig boys played superbly in both codes. In football ,the general play and reading of the game was well improved, specifically the catching of high ball and scoring opportunities.  In hurling the defence were phenomenal all game long with midfield and the forwards also impressing the group of loyal supporters.   U9 U9 team A spectacular performance again from our U9’s playing at home against Courcey Rovers,. Juvenile Club notes 19th May

U12 team and Mentors The U12’s played at home to Cloughduv on Fri. night in the hurling league. A fine display of hurling was seen by both teams. However, Carraig were worthy winners at the final whistle. A superb team performance. Well done all. A big thanks to all the mentors who train this team.  U7/8 Our young players continue to attend training on Friday evenings at 6:30pm in the club grounds. The coaches are encouraging all players to practice both codes at home as the Rebel Og blitz matches will be commencing shortly for the U7/8s and further friendlies will be organised for the U6s. Updates communicated via the WhatsApp…stay tuned!! U9/10: The U9 footballers hosted Castlelyons in the league on a lovely Saturday morning. Castlelyons and home team agreed to play two mini matches first, before playing a “Big” match to finish. The standard in all the games was very high and we had some very good defensive displays with blocking down particularly good. The fitness of this group also seems to be improving with all players playing to the end. We will need to work on our score taking but all in all a very positive result for this young group. We are away V Brian Dillons in the hurling league this Saturday at 11 and training is on every Monday and Wednesday nights at 6.30 in the main pitch.
