The whole parish of Carraig na bhFear ( and all his friends in Carraig GAA) will be glued to the TV on Sunday September 1st  as Tadhg O Donoghue takes to the field with the Cork Minor Football Team in the All Ireland Minor Football Final at Croke Park. Throw in is at 1pm.  This is a fantastic achievement for Tadhg and we wholeheartedly wish him all the best for the final and that he enjoys the whole day. With or without a medal, Tadhg will be welcomed home to Carraig as a hero. Best of luck to both the team and the management, who also include one of our own, Colm Crowley ( S&C Coach). Beir bua lads. We also send huge congratulations to Con Burns ( S&C Coach) to the Cork U20 Footballers who had a fantastic win over Dublin a few weeks ago. Lotto Results August 26th – No Winner

There was No winner of the Lotto Jackpot of €3000 on Monday night, 26th August. The numbers drawn were 6, 28, 31. The €30 prize winners were: Martina Joyce, C/O Shop, Diarmuid Mullins, Timothy Hegarty, Joe Cashman, C/O Post Office.  Next weeks jackpot is €3200 and the draw will take place on Monday night, 2nd September. Carraig na bhFear 5k Results 2019

Thanks to all who attended our fifth annual 5K Road Race on Tuesday 20th August in Carraig na bhFear. The rain held off and conditions were perfect for running. A record number of participants took to the line once again, thank you to all who support this fundraiser each year. The overall winner in the mens category was Kieran McKeown, who came home in a time of 16:05, a fantastic time, well done Kieran. Following in home in second place was Nathan O’Leary in a time of 16:21. Hot on his heels was Evan Fitzgerald in third place with a time of 16:28. Well done lads, mighty running! In the ladies race, after numerous place finishes in recent years, victory went to local primary school teacher Claire O’Brien, who ran a brilliant race to win in a time of 18:58. Well done Claire! Second place went to Linda O’Sullivan with a speedy time of 19:27, while third place went to Louise Murphy, showing Conor how it’s done with a time of 20:59. Congratulations ladies, fantastic times all round! Well done to all who participated. We hope to see you all back again in 2020 when we hope to host the race again for it’s sixth edition.
