Rebel Og County Minor A Hurling Semi Final
Sun 4th October 3:30pm in Ballygarvan
Carraig na bhFear v Ahan Gaels
Best of luck to our Minor Hurlers who are back in championship action this weekend when they take on West Cork Champions Ahan Gaels in the County Minor A Hurling Semi Final in Ballygarvan. Carraig lost out to Courcey Rovers by 5 points in a fantastic East Region Final in early September. Courceys await the winner of this tie in the County final, with Ahan Gaels impressing on their way to the Western Region title, where they defeated Ibane Gaels in the final. These sides have met before, in the 2011 County U14 final, where Ahan were winners by a single point after a very close game. Lead by Brendan Murphy, Oisin Crowley and Conor Hayes, Carraigs side from that night is largely intact, but there are some new, younger faces in the team also who have made big impressions this year, with Jack Ahern and Cormac Murphy now key figures. Unfortunately we will be without the services of Thomas O’Driscoll, who suffered an injury in a recent challenge game, we wish him all the best in his recovery!
Throw in time in Ballygarvan on Sunday is 3:30pm, so please come along and support the team in this huge game for them and the club!
