A busy weekend last week with our Junior A Hurlers taking on Erins Own on Sunday night in Carraig while on Monday night our Junior B Hurlers travelled to Shanagarry to play Russell Rovers. The A’s had a comfortable win over a depleted Erins Own outfit, with a number of players getting their chance to impress the selectors for this weeks championship semi final. Final score Carraig 6-23 Erins Own 2-13.
On Monday night the Junior B hurlers picked up their second win of the league campaign with a convincing 1-16 to 0-06 win over Russell Rovers in Shanagarry. A first half goal from a Pádraig O’Sullivan sideline set Carraig on their way, leading 1-06 to 0-05 at the break. Second half points from Ryan Galvin, Oisin Crowley, Joe O’Donnell and Sean O’Sullivan all helped contribute to a 10 point win. With 3 games remaining, a place in the final is certainly still up for grabs. The B’s will play Erins Own on Monday night 17th August in Caherlag at 7pm and then take on Cobh the following week at 8pm on Monday 24th August.
