Our annual Poc Fada will take place once again this year on St. Patricks day, 17th March.
This charity fundraiser has become a popular annual fixture on the club calendar and once again we expect a big crowd of hurlers, young and old, to take on the challenging course. The pucking begins from Coole Cross at 11:30am, as teams of 3 wind their way around famed Dun Bolg and back into the village via the college road.
Here is a map of the route: Poc Fada Map
The event is open to all, teams of 3 are €20 and there will be refreshments along with prizes for the various categories. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t pucked a ball in years or not, this is all about having an enjoyable day in the community. All proceeds from the Poc Fada go to Marymount Hospice, a fantastic charity which we are delighted to support. So spread the word and bring a few friends.
You may even loft the bridge, like this happy fella…
An Poc Ghearr begins at 10.00am St Patricks Day. Meeting at College School- waddlers, toddlers, young men, women and families are all welcome. Finishes at Community Centre for refreshments. All welcome and looking forward to a fun morning . This is a special event with young children in mind, who may not be old enough to complete the main event later in the morning. Last year a number of future stars took their first pocs for Carraig at this event and it promises to be a great family event once again. All donations received will be donated to Marymount Hospice. Your support for this event is appreciated.
