Poc Fada
Tuesday 17th March 11:30am
Coole Cross
Our Annual Poc Fada takes place once again on St. Patricks Day, 17th March at 11:30am. This charity fundraiser has become a popular annual fixture on the club calendar and once again we expect a big crowd of hurlers, young and old, to take on the challenging course. The pucking begins from Coole Cross at 11:30am, as teams of 3 wind their way around famed Dun Bolg and back into the village via the college road.
Here is a map of the route: https://goo.gl/maps/1I5QE
The event is open to all, teams of 3 are €20 and there will be refreshments provided in Carrig House at the finish line, along with prizes for the various categories. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t pucked a ball in years or not, this is all about having an enjoyable day in the community.
All proceeds from the Poc Fada go to Marymount Hospice, a fantastic charity which we are delighted to support.
Carraig na bhFear Juvenile GAA “Junior Poc Fada” – St. Patricks Day 10am
In addition to our Traditional Long Poc, this year our Juvenile club will be hosting a special Family Junior Poc Fada, for ALL kids Under 6 years of age.
The event is free to all and starts from the College gates at 10am. There will be refreshments in the hall afterwards and older kids can then make their way to Coole Cross for the main event at 11:30am.
We hope to see you all there as the stars of tomorrow take their first swings for Carraig.
